Mothers and Daughters Face Generational Trauma

  In seeking my own healing and my daughters and their daughters. I wondered about trauma, the environment and culture in which we were raised and how it affects us. The effects of the environment on gene expression have been shown to continue for as long as 14  generations.  As mentioned, the effects of the environment on gene expression can be passed down for several generations.   A study conducted by scientists at the Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG) in Barcelona and the Josep Carreras Leukaemia Research Institute and The Institute for Health Science Research Germans Trias i Pujol (IGTP) in Badalona, Spain, found that the impact of environmental change can be passed on in the genes of tiny nematode worms for at least 14 generations  1 .
